About Us

Following the success of Precision Pilates Parkdale which has been in operation for 9 years, Helen is thrilled to now offer her services to the Windsor community.

Whether you're an aspiring dancer, young or old, want to improve your overall fitness or require rehabilitation from an injury, Pilates can help you!

We aim to provide personalised Pilates sessions in a 1:1 or 1:3 session.  We also offer Body Conditioning Classes to dancers in a 1:5 group session.

Pilates gets your mind and body working together by emphasising proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment and focusing in particular on “core strength” which involves your deep abdominal muscles, pelvic floor and deep postural muscles of the spine. Just learning to breathe deeply using your whole body is a great way to reduce stress and allow you to focus better.

By staying true to Joseph Pilates original principles, it is possible to modify the work to cater for all levels and body types. It is a safe, effective way to rehabilitate your body after an injury, by teaching correct motor patterns, allowing you to move in a safer more effective way. As Pilates instructors, we love effecting a change on people's bodies. We can adjust the work to suit all body types and fitness levels and make the work "suitable" for you, which means everyone will progress at a level that is suitable for their body.

Helen originally trained as a dancer, and so has a special interest in working with dance students and performers of all ages to help them avoid injury by strengthening their body and giving them skills to further enhance their dance technique. The level of flexibility required of dancers can often lead to injuries, as students do not always develop adequate strength to control their flex.  Helen has a unique ability to educate this client base by combining both their dance/performance knowledge and Pilates training.

Under Helen's supervision, both her Windsor and Parkdale studios are approved by National Pilates Training as Workplace Facilitation Sites. You will often find student instructors assisting at various sessions. This programme is of great benefit to the students who are required to log 350 Work Experience hours under a qualified instructor and also to you the client, as you will often find yourself receiving extra assistance in your session.

Lizzy Maric

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT)

Born and raised in Canada, Lizzy has always been inspired by movement and the human body. From dancing at a young age and always working on her feet she found it difficult to transition to a 9 – 5 corporate role. Feeling stressed in both body and mind, she discovered the Pilates method and experienced the true power of the Pilates principles and the mind-body connection.

Lizzy immediately fell in love with the practice and used these sessions as a way to escape her stressful work life. Wanting to share the Pilates benefits with others, she enrolled at National Pilates Training to complete her Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT). With Helen as her mentor, she dedicated herself to complete over 350 work experience hours and her love for the practice grew even further.

When she's not at the studio you can find Lizzy skipping down Chapel Street or down the coast in Torquay where she is currently learning to surf!

Lizzy looks forward to working with you and sharing her knowledge firsthand on how beneficial the Pilates method truly is.

Tara Presnell

Certificate IV in Pilates (10376NAT)

Certificate IV Dance Teaching & Management (CUA40313)

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT)

As a dancer, Tara was introduced to Pilates as a way to cross-train and condition her body and found she really enjoyed Pilates as another form of movement and physical activity.

After undergoing knee surgery, she used Pilates throughout her rehab process, and during this time she really started to develop a fascination for Pilates and became a dedicated "student" of the Pilates Method.

Her interest in the human body and how to treat it well, both internally and externally, began to grow from this time. Tara then decided to complete a Certificate IV in Pilates (10376NAT) immediately followed by the completion of her Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT) under Helen's mentorship.

When not doing Pilates, Tara works as a dance teacher. She looks forward to working with you and sharing her love for this work.
